Summary

This position works directly with marketing segment managers to assist in providing donor engagement activities and communications.  The focus of this position is event and communications.  The right candidate will assist in organizing and promoting special events.

Communications responsibilities may include writing newsletters and maintaining communications with donor inquiries. This is an unpaid position but academic credit will be granted if the intern's institution permits it.

Reports to Marketing segment manager(s)
   
Responsibilities
  • Assist with execution of plans for marketing segment events.
  • Participate in organization and execution plans, which may include attending meetings, meeting preparation assistance and meeting presentation.
  • Assist with the research and development of donor data management for internal use.
  • Assist in planning and organizing training for event staff, workplace staff and campaign volunteers as needed.
  • Assist in data tracking and reporting for event specific activities and communication.
  • Event related duties may include:
    Assist with volunteer management
    Develop internal and external communications
    Aiding in event day logistics
    Attending promotional fairs at companies
    Conducting post-event communication and evaluation
   
Qualifications
  • College graduate or student in a degree program in marketing/communications, public relations, nonprofit administration or liberal arts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Event planning and management experience preferred
   
Time Commitment
  • Ideally one or two semesters
  • Approximately 12-25 hours per week
  • Hours and dates are flexible (within an 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. workday)
  • Hours may include some nights and weekends for special events
